Big Blind Special

Think your on tilt? You're not the only one. Whether you play on Full Tilt, Poker Stars, Bodog, or any other site, you're entrusting your hard earned money to a company that's not regulated by our government. All these poker sites operate overseas and are entities that don't have to play by the rules, because they are not subject to any rules.
How many times did you have a great hand and you got slaughtered on the river? Well, you're not the only one. These poker sites and their owners don't play fair. But somehow, we're still suckers. And we keep coming back to these sites that have no regulating or governing entities.
So why is poker illegal in the USA? Why in the world would our government give up billions of dollars in tax money? So many financial deficits could be resolved by legalizing online poker and generating a tax stream for our country. The tax revenue that can be generated by taxing online poker could be a nice down payment on the healthcare reform that our president keeps talking about. So why is our government sacrificing tax dollars that could be put to good use? I do not know.
All I know is that one night two years ago a few conservatives (republicans such as myself) got together to discuss port security. These republicans wanted to pass an act that would make our ports safer. Somehow one thing lead to another and it turned out that Sen. Bill Frist, who was the republican senate majority leader at the time, wants to be president. So they told Sen. Frist that he can get the Christian Right vote if he passes a law prohibiting online poker. Next thing you know, online poker is illegal and thus not regulated by our government. Thereby forfeiting huge amounts of tax dollars that can help get our country's healthcare system on track.
It's as if there is no war in Iraq. No war in Afghanistan. It's like the economy isn't in turmoil and is rock solid and booming. Our lawmakers had nothing better to do but to prohibit online poker. Poker prohibition is remarkably similar to a prohibition of the early 20th century: Alcohol Prohibition. It was illegal to drink booze, but people still drank and people still got drunk. It's illegal to play poker online in the privacy of your own home, but you still do it.
If you want to play an honest game of poker you have to go to a casino. So depending on where you live, you have to either hop in your car, or hop on a plane to go play an honest game of poker.
Almost every president, including the present one, has either played or continues to play poker. There's absolutely no justifiable reason why you can't play poker online in the privacy of your own home and have it regulated by our government.
If you want to join a good cause that works hard to legalize online poker, join the Poker Players Alliance by going to: www.theppa.org
Sen. Al D'amato is the chairman and he is a big poker player. He plays with a group of people every monday night at Oheeka Castle out on Long Island. He's poker's biggest advocate and I'm glad that online poker has a voice that is heard and his support.
We live in a democracy. This is a free country. We need our government to regulate online poker. www.theppa.org

Sloan from Entourage

Emmanuelle Chriqui and the President of Iran have something in common: they both have names that are difficult to pronounce. But let's be honest, who cares what her name is, how it's spelled, or how it's pronounced. Because she is ridiculously hot. And since I love women, I had to add her to my blog. She earned it by being stunning.
She's looking especially beautiful this season on Entourage and I felt I owed it to myself and the people who read my blog to post her up here. She is nothing short of beautiful.
Plus I couldn't think of anything else to blog about. So what better than to share my thoughts on a girl who I find insanely attractive.
My only concern is: I wonder if she looks as good in real life. Because they can make anyone look good on tv. So does she look the same in real life?
She looked incredible in "You Don't Mess With The Zohan." The only thing I didn't like about her role in "Zohan" was her accent. She didn't do a great job trying to put on a middle eastern accent. They should have just let her do her own voice. But hey, what do I know?
There's just something about Sloan (aka Emmanuelle Chriqui.) She captures the screen. She takes over. Too bad she's not dating E. He's obviously still in love with her and I feel for the guy. He wants her back. However, I'm sure the people at Entourage have something in the works. I say: More Sloan, Less Clothing. Ashley isn't cutting it. She's cute, but she's not up there with Sloan. And just like myself, E is a sucker for love. He can't be alone, he needs to have a girlfriend.
Since I'm on the topic of hot chicks, I figure I should throw in another tv chick that I think is hot, Lauren Conrad. She is mesmerizing. I don't watch any of those reality tv shows, so I have no clue what she is really like in person or in character. I'm judging strictly aesthetics. And aesthetically speaking, she is another tv hottie who is always in those rag mags aka gossip magazines. I can only guess what the fascination with Conrad is, and I'm guessing it's her looks.

Rabbis and Mayors Arrested for Some Shady Business

Forty Four (maybe less) people were arrested yesterday for what appears to be a huge scandal that alleges criminal activity that ranges from money laundering to black-market sales of human organs. The people placed under arrest includes Rabbis from Brooklyn and some significant, key politicians. Five rabbis and three mayors were arrested.
I never planned to be a news source, nor do I claim to have any information other than what I see and hear in the media, but this story caught my attention. This is just plain wrong. How can these rabbis be involved in a scheme to sell human kidneys? Rabbis are supposed to be religious leaders and are supposed to do right by people.
Thou shall not sell their neighbors kidney.  What is wrong with these rabbis? I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on the money laundering claims, but to cut people open and take their organs to sell them on the black market is just inexcusable and unjustifiable. Aren't we supposed to trust our Rabbis? How can a Rabbi be involved in anything that has to do with stealing organs whether the rabbi is aware of it or not?

The mayor of Hoboken, NJ was arrested. Mayor Peter Cammarano of Hoboken, a democrat, pleaded not guilty and was released on $100k bail. "I could be indicted and still get 85 to 95 percent of the vote" bragged Mayor Cammarano, said US Attorney Ralph Marra. This guy can't be serious.
The mayor of Ridgefield, NJ was arrested.
And the mayor of Secaucus, NJ was arrested.
These towns sound familiar no?
The Jersey City Council President was arrested also.

Joe Doria, who is NJ Governor Jon Corzine's director of community affairs, resigned yesterday. Doria's home was searched in connection with the investigation, but officials haven't pressed charges. My question is: Why did he resign so fast? What did he do? And are they not pressing charges because of his resignation? If Doria won't be charged in exchange for his resignation, that's a smart move. If that's the case, then he's definitely thinking way ahead of his contemporaries. Interesting stuff.

Anyhow, to sum things up, this is a big deal. It's a big story and I felt the need to post it on my blog. I welcome feedback, I'd love to hear people's opinions on this matter and if you have info, please don't hesitate to send it over by e-mailing me at: spicyscallopblog@gmail.com

Thanks for your time, I know it's valuable.

Whatever I feel like writing about at that particular moment, is what I'm going to write in this blog.
